Manufacturing / Tool Grinding About Us We are a precision manufacturing operation producing high-quality cutting tools and components for customers across a wide range of industries. We are currently seeking a Wheel Dressing Technician to support our manufacturing operations on second shift. Position Overview The Wheel Dressing Technician is responsible for dressing, profiling, inspecting, and maintaining grinding wheels to ensure optimal grinding performance, consistency, and quality. This role requires strong technical knowledge of grinding processes, attention to detail, and the ability to work closely with grinding operators to support production and quality requirements. Dress and profile grinding wheels according to established specifications, work instructions, and production requirements Select appropriate dressing tools, parameters, and methods based on wheel type and application Inspect grinding wheels for wear, damage, and conformity to specifications Monitor wheel performance and make adjustments to maintain optimal grinding conditions Troubleshoot grinding wheel and dressing-related issues, working collaboratively with operators and supervision Read and interpret drawings, routings, and item attributes related to grinding operations Maintain proper documentation related to wheel dressing activities and shop floor data collection Perform routine maintenance and care of dressing equipment and associated tooling Adhere to all aspects of the Quality Management System and safety requirements Assist with training operators and technicians on proper wheel use and dressing techniques when requested Maintain a clean and organized work area following 5S and safety standards Perform other duties as assigned by supervision or management
Qualifications Required:
Experience with grinding wheel dressing and profiling in an industrial manufacturing environment Knowledge of grinding wheel types, abrasives, bonds, and dressing tools Ability to read and interpret work instructions, routings, and technical drawings Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills Attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred:
