Job Description

​Job Summary ​We are seeking a dependable, hardworking Commercial Heavy-Duty Tire & Maintenance Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for servicing commercial trucks and trailers, performing routine preventative maintenance (PMs), and responding to emergency roadside service calls. You will ensure fleet vehicles operate safely and efficiently, working both in our commercial service bays and out in the field. ​Core Responsibilities ​
Commercial Tire Service:
Mount, demount, balance, rotate, and regroove heavy-duty commercial truck and trailer tires. Diagnose tire wear patterns and perform inflation checks. ​
Roadside Emergency Service:
Respond to emergency roadside assistance calls (interstate/highway) to perform commercial tire swaps and get drivers moving safely. ​Preventative Maintenance (PM): Perform comprehensive PM services on heavy-duty tractors and trailers, including oil changes, fuel/lube filter replacements, grease jobs, and fluid top-offs. ​
Wheel End & Component Inspection:
Inspect wheel seals, hubcaps, and underlying components during service. Perform routine replacements of mudflaps, brackets, and other hardware as needed. ​
Shop Efficiency:
Keep service bays, tools, and the roadside truck organized, clean, and in top working order. Complete miscellaneous shop tasks as directed by the manager. ​
Safety Compliance:
Strictly adhere to OSHA, DOT, and company safety standards, with a critical focus on high-risk highway roadside safety and proper wheel torque procedures. ​Qualifications & Skills ​
Commercial Experience:
Previous experience handling commercial truck tires (Class 7 and 8 vehicles), heavy-duty shop equipment, or commercial fleet maintenance is highly preferred. ​
Driver's License:
A valid driver's license with a clean driving record is required to operate the roadside service vehicle. ​
Physical Strength:
Must be able to regularly lift and maneuver heavy objects up to 100 lbs (such as mounted commercial tire assemblies and heavy-duty jacks). ​
Environmental Resilience:
Willingness and physical stamina to work outdoors in all weather conditions (heat, cold, rain) during roadside service dispatches. ​
Reliability:
A strong track record of punctuality and dependability. Ability to work flexible hours or participate in an on-call rotation for roadside dispatches. ​
Coachability:
