Border Tire is all things tire. We are a Michelin Commercial Service Network Dealer (MCSN) specializing in medium-duty, heavy-duty, agricultural, and industrial-size tires. We carry a wide variety of brands to meet your needs. Join the Border Tire team!!! Border Tire is hiring a Mount/Dismount Technician in El Paso, TX! The Mount/Dismount Technician is responsible for safely and efficiently removing, installing, inflating, and inspecting tires and wheels on commercial, industrial, and passenger vehicles. This role plays a key part in ensuring vehicle safety and customer satisfaction by delivering high-quality tire services in a timely manner.
Responsibilities:
Mount and dismount tires from wheels using proper tools and safety procedures. Install and remove wheels and tires from vehicles. Inflate tires to recommended pressure using air compressors and gauges. Inspect tires and wheels for wear, damage, and any signs of defect or safety concerns. Balance tires and wheels using computerized or manual balancing equipment. Maintain accurate records of work completed and materials used. Operate tire-changing machines, torque wrenches, jacks, and other shop equipment. Keep work area clean, safe, and organized at all times. Adhere to all company safety protocols and procedures. Report any faulty equipment, workplace hazards, or customer concerns to supervisor immediately. Assist with inventory tracking and restocking tire supplies when needed. Provide excellent customer service and represent the company professionally. Other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED preferred. Prior experience in tire service or mechanical shop preferred but not required—training provided. Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record (if road service is required). Ability to lift up to 75 lbs frequently and perform physically demanding work. Strong attention to detail and safety-minded attitude. Basic mechanical skills and ability to use hand/power tools. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and follow directions. Must be able to work in various weather conditions and stand for extended periods.
