10-hour days, 4 days a week Position Summary The Tire and Wheel Specialist is responsible for maintaining and repairing tires and wheels on company vehicles. This includes inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing tire and wheel issues, as well as performing routine maintenance to ensure the safety and efficiency of the fleet. Daily Fleet Vehicle Tire and Wheel Inspection and Maintenance Duties Conduct daily inspections of all in-house fleet vehicles to identify tire and wheel issues, including: Underinflated or flat tires Damaged or deteriorated casings Irregular tread wear patterns Worn out, loose, or missing lug nuts Cracks or other visible wheel/tire damage Perform related tire and wheel repairs, such as: Proper tire repairs (patching, plugging, etc.) Replacing tires as needed Cleaning and refinishing rims Replacing damaged or broken wheel studs Rotating tires Adjusting toe-in alignment as needed Respond to road calls using the company service truck: Replace or repair tires on fleet vehicles stranded due to tire issues Ensure the service truck is fully stocked, clean, and ready for deployment always Maintain an inventory of spare tires and always ensure availability Manage tires and repair inventories: Keep accurate records of tire inventory, repair materials, tools, and equipment Track all tires installed or removed, including brand and serial numbers Brand tires as needed for tracking and identification Assess and categorize used tires: Determine whether removed tires should be: Kept as spares Sent for recapping Scrapped and properly disposed of Identify and report additional vehicle issues: Remain alert to any other noticeable defects or deficiencies during inspections or repairs Immediately report all findings to the Dispatch Department and the Traffic Manager Conduct weekly stock surveys: Inspect all units at least once per week for irregular wear and other tire-related concerns Take photographs and document observations Project tire replacement needs for the upcoming two weeks Position Qualifications Customer Oriented

  • Must have at least one year of commercial tire experience. Skills

  • High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED): Required Experience
  • Two or more years of related experience Certifications and Licenses
  • Commercial Driver's License Work Environment On the road in a vehicle going between loading and maintenance sites on each trip.
