Job Description Help for Job Description. Opens a new window. Job DescriptionJob Description We are seeking dependable and safety-focused Cell Tower Climbers to join our team at Phoenix Telecom, Inc. In this role, you will be responsible for climbing and working on cell towers to perform installations, maintenance, upgrades, and troubleshooting of wireless communication equipment. This position requires a strong work ethic, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work at heights in various weather conditions.
responsibilities:
Climb towers and safely perform work at heights up to 500 feetInstall, maintain, and repair antennas, lines, radios, and related wireless infrastructurePerform tower inspections and document findings with detailed reports and photosTroubleshoot and test communication equipment and cables using appropriate toolsFollow safety procedures and use personal protective equipment (PPE) at all timesWork closely with the field crew and project managers to complete assignments on scheduleAccurately complete daily reports, time sheets, and safety documentationTravel to job sites as required, sometimes for extended periods
Qualifications:
Previous experience as a tower climber or in a similar field preferredMust be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background checkValid driver's license with a clean driving recordMust be comfortable working at heights and in outdoor environmentsStrong understanding of safety standards (OSHA, RF awareness, etc.)Certifications such as OSHA 10/30, Competent Climber, First Aid/CPR, and RF Awareness are a plus (or willingness to obtain)Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 50 lbsCapable of climbing towers and working at elevation for extended periodsAble to work in a physically demanding environment, including extreme temperatures and weather conditions
