Job Description

Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, performs specific assigned duties in providing patient care for the medical patient in accordance with established SRH and Nursing Services Policies and Standard Work. Functions in a supportive role to communicate patient care needs and resolve work-related issues. Performs any other job related duties as requested by Nurse Manager or Department Director. Job Qualifications High School graduate or equivalent. License and Certification Requirements SC Nurse Aide Certification OR passed fundamentals in RN/LPN school OR completed Surg Tech or EMT course OR completed 2-year Health Science Technology Program OR completed Patient Care Tech course OR successfully completed the SRH PCT program, OR Graduate of an accredited nursing assistant program, certification eligible. Must achieve certification within 3 months of hire. BLS certified.
If PCT II:
worked in at least 2 units independently; delivered one in-service or participated in one special project; was a positive role model for students/peers; was a preceptor if needed.
If PCT III:
worked in at least 3 units independently or covered 2+ roles; delivered/participated in two in-services and/or special projects; was a positive role model for students/peers; was a preceptor .
