Job Description

Job Overview Join our dynamic team as a Traffic Control Flagger, where your role is vital in ensuring the safety and smooth flow of construction and maintenance operations. You will be responsible for directing vehicle and pedestrian traffic around active work zones, helping to prevent accidents and keep everyone safe. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work outdoors, collaborate with construction crews, and contribute to large-scale infrastructure projects. Your proactive communication and alertness will be key to maintaining safe environments on busy construction sites. Responsibilities Set up and maintain clear traffic control signs, cones, barriers, and flagging stations to guide vehicles and pedestrians safely through work zones Communicate effectively with construction crews, drivers, and pedestrians using hand signals, flags, or radios to direct traffic flow Monitor work zones continuously to identify potential hazards or unsafe behaviors and take immediate corrective actions Follow all safety protocols and procedures established by the project site to ensure compliance with OSHA standards Assist with the setup and removal of traffic control devices at the beginning and end of shifts Report any incidents, unsafe conditions, or equipment issues to site supervisors promptly Support other construction activities as needed, including assisting with heavy equipment operation or utility locating when qualified Skills Strong understanding of traffic control procedures and safety regulations Ability to operate flagging equipment confidently and clearly communicate directions Experience working on construction sites or in related environments is highly desirable Familiarity with heavy equipment operation such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, dump trucks, front loader trucks, or paving machinery is a plus Knowledge of utility locating techniques and basic construction processes enhances effectiveness on site Ability to remain alert for extended periods while maintaining focus on safety and traffic management Certification in OSHA or other relevant safety standards is preferred; valid flagger certification is a plus This role requires energetic engagement, keen attention to detail, and a commitment to safety.
