Railroad Switchman

Switchman Position - Opelousas, Louisiana Acadiana Railway is currently seeking a motivated and dependable Switchman to join our team in Opelousas, Louisiana.

Job Responsibilities:

Switching railcars to meet customers' daily needs Assisting with general work around the office and rail yard Working outdoors in all weather conditions, rain or shine

Compensation & Benefits:

Starting pay: $18.00 per hour during the initial 90-day probationary period Pay increases to $19.00 per hour upon successful completion of the probationary period Guaranteed 40 paid hours per week for employees who report to work as scheduled or utilize approved vacation time Paid time off, medical, dental, vision, and life insurance

Work Schedule:

No regularly scheduled nights or weekends If weekend work is required, employees are guaranteed a minimum of four hours at time-and-a-half pay

Advancement Opportunities:

There is potential for advancement into Conductor and Engineer positions as company needs arise. Promotion to either position includes a guaranteed $1.00 per hour pay increase .

Requirements:

Must pass a pre-employment drug test, background check and physical.
