Job Overview Join our dynamic construction team as a Traffic Control Flagger, where you will play a vital role in ensuring safety and smooth traffic flow around active construction sites. Your energetic presence will guide vehicles and pedestrians safely through work zones, helping to prevent accidents and maintain efficient operations. This position offers an engaging opportunity to work outdoors, coordinate with construction crews, and contribute to building infrastructure that benefits communities. Your proactive approach and attention to safety will be essential in creating a secure environment for all site visitors and workers. Responsibilities Direct vehicular and pedestrian traffic around construction zones using signs, or flagging devices to ensure safety for workers and the public Communicate effectively with construction crews, drivers, and pedestrians to provide clear instructions and updates on traffic conditions Monitor work zones continuously, adjusting traffic control measures as needed based on site activity and safety protocols Maintain visibility at all times by wearing appropriate safety gear such as high-visibility vests and helmets Assist with setting up and dismantling traffic control devices including cones, barriers, signs, and flagging stations before and after shifts Report any unsafe conditions or incidents immediately to site supervisors for prompt action Support the overall safety efforts on-site by adhering strictly to OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) standards and company policies Qualifications Must be an ATSSA Certified Flagger with CPR/First AID and OSHA 10 Prior experience in construction sites or traffic control roles is preferred but not required; training will be provided for qualified candidates Ability to stand, walk, and remain alert for extended periods in outdoor environments under varying weather conditions Strong communication skills with the ability to give clear directions using hand signals or radio communication Knowledge of basic construction equipment operation such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, dump trucks, front loader trucks, or utility locating is a plus but not mandatory Familiarity with heavy equipment operation including Caterpillar machinery is advantageous Demonstrated commitment to safety protocols and attention to detail in high-pressure situations Valid certification in flagging or traffic control (if available) is a plus; willingness to obtain necessary certifications upon hire Join us in creating safer roads and thriving communities!
