$17.00 per hour About the Role The Traffic Controller supports traffic control operations on active job sites throughout Southern Maryland. This role is responsible for implementing traffic control plans, setting up and maintaining work zone safety, and ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. The Traffic Controller contributes to safe and efficient project execution by maintaining proper traffic flow and work zone conditions. Key Responsibilities Set up, maintain, and remove traffic control devices, including signs, cones, barricades, and drums Implement traffic control plans in accordance with project requirements Support lane closures and road closures while maintaining safe traffic flow Load, transport, and unload traffic control equipment using company vehicles and trailers Operate and utilize traffic control devices and equipment safely and effectively Perform basic maintenance, assembly, and repair of traffic control equipment Follow all safety protocols and maintain awareness of surrounding conditions at all times Communicate effectively with team members and follow direction on job sites Preferred Skills and Qualifications Knowledge of MUTCD guidelines and traffic control setup standards Maryland Temporary Traffic Control Manager Card preferred Strong communication skills and ability to follow instructions Basic math skills Ability to work in a consistent state of alertness and maintain safe work practices Education High school diploma or GED preferred but not required Experience 0-1 year of traffic control or related experience preferred Requirements Valid driver's license with a clean driving record Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 50 pounds Ability to stand for extended periods of time and perform physical labor in outdoor conditions
