Job Description

Job Overview Join our dynamic construction team as a Traffic Control Flagger and play a vital role in ensuring safety and smooth traffic flow at construction sites. In this energetic position, you will be responsible for directing vehicle and pedestrian traffic, maintaining safety protocols, and supporting construction crews in a fast-paced environment. Your proactive approach will help prevent accidents, facilitate efficient operations, and uphold the highest safety standards on-site. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to be part of impactful infrastructure projects while honing your skills in traffic management and heavy equipment awareness. Duties Set up and operate traffic control devices such as cones, signs, and barricades to guide vehicles and pedestrians safely around construction zones Direct traffic using hand signals or stop/slow paddles to ensure safe passage for workers and equipment Monitor work zones continuously to identify potential hazards or unsafe behaviors, taking immediate corrective action Communicate effectively with construction crews, drivers, and pedestrians to coordinate safe movement through work areas Assist with the movement of heavy equipment including dozers, loaders, backhoes, front loader trucks, dump trucks, graders, and other machinery when necessary Support construction activities by helping with utility locating and site setup as needed Maintain clear documentation of daily traffic control activities and report any incidents or hazards promptly Qualifications Prior experience in construction site safety or traffic control is preferred but not required; training will be provided for motivated candidates Ability to stand for extended periods and work outdoors in various weather conditions Strong communication skills to effectively direct traffic and coordinate with team members Familiarity with construction site protocols and safety regulations is advantageous Valid certification in flagging or traffic control (or willingness to obtain) as per local regulations Knowledge of utility locating procedures and basic construction practices enhances your effectiveness on-site Join us in creating safer roads and thriving communities!
