Highway Maintenance Worker

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Travel out of town on a weekly basis. Job is 100% travel
• Perform required repairs to roads, bridges and other existing infrastructure.

Required Competencies:

$50 per diem given for every day worked out of town.

• Must have a valid driver's license
• Must possess high school level reading, writing and math skills and have earned High School diploma or Equivalent (GED).
• Must be able to pass all required safety training.

Special Requirements:

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Must have a good motor vehicle record.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screen and physical and will be subject to random and for cause testing.
• Must pass pre-employment background check.
• Must have, or have access to, reliable transportation.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds on a frequent basis.
• Must be flexible to work either day or night shifts and to leave on Sunday or Monday.
• Must be available to work out of town for extended periods of time. Job is 100% travel. Skills and Experience (preferred):
• Ability to operate and back a truck while pulling a trailer or equipment.
• Ability to operate bobcat, excavator, or forklift.
• Previous experience in road work or a related field; construction, landscaping, etc.
• Experience operating power tools such as concrete saws and jack hammers.
• Experience or Certification for Flagging and Traffic Control set up.
• Experience or Certification with Confined Space.

Full-time Pay:

$20.00 - $22.00 per hour
