In this energetic position, you will be responsible for directing vehicle and pedestrian traffic, maintaining safety protocols, and supporting construction crews in a fast-paced environment. Your proactive approach will help prevent accidents, facilitate efficient work progress, and uphold safety standards across the project site. Responsibilities Safely control and direct vehicular and pedestrian traffic around construction zones using standardized hand signals, signs, and flagging equipment Communicate clearly with construction workers, drivers, and pedestrians to coordinate movements and prevent accidents Set up appropriate signage, barriers, and warning devices to alert the public of ongoing construction activities Monitor the site continuously for safety hazards and report any concerns immediately to supervisors Assist with the movement of heavy equipment such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, dump trucks, front loader trucks, and other heavy machinery as needed Support utility locating efforts to ensure safe excavation and construction operations Maintain accurate records of daily traffic control activities and incidents for compliance and safety audits Requirements Proven experience in construction site activities or traffic control roles with a focus on safety procedures Familiarity with heavy equipment operation including dozer, loader operation, backhoe operation, grader operation, and dump truck handling is a plus Knowledge of utility locating techniques and safety standards related to construction zones Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions while maintaining alertness and professionalism Strong communication skills to effectively coordinate with team members and the public Valid certification in flagging or traffic control Experience working with Caterpillar equipment or similar heavy machinery is advantageous Join us in creating safer construction environments!
