Flagger Job Description We are looking for dedicated and safety-focused Flaggers to support roadway construction and maintenance projects. This role is crucial for ensuring the safety of workers, drivers, and pedestrians by effectively directing traffic flow around active work zones. Ideal candidates are alert, dependable, and able to communicate clearly in fast-changing environments. Responsibilities Direct and control traffic using stop/slow paddles, hand signals, and radios to maintain safe movement through work zones. Set up, maintain, and remove traffic control devices such as cones, signs, and barricades according to company and state standards. Monitor road and worksite conditions and adjust traffic control patterns as needed to ensure safety. Communicate effectively with crew members, supervisors, and the public to coordinate safe operations. Follow all safety protocols and report hazards, incidents, or equipment issues immediately. Stand for extended periods and remain attentive throughout the shift, regardless of weather conditions. Essential Skills Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Ability to lift 30-50 lbs and work outdoors in all weather conditions. Strong situational awareness and communication skills. Ability to remain calm and professional with the public. Additional Skills & Qualifications Steel toe boots required/composite boots that come above the ankle. Prior flagging or construction experience is a plus but not required. Traffic Control certification or willingness to obtain one. Why Work Here? Work Environment Work 100% outdoors on active construction jobs, Monday to Friday, with occasional Saturdays. Expect to work 8-10 hours a day, and be dispatched from home via an app. Orientation includes safety protocol review, with PPE provided and meals included. Be prepared to work in various locations including New Castle, Carnegie, Uniontown, and Washington. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Uniontown, PA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
