Flagger/Traffic Control Foreman

Established utility construction company is looking for a reliable, full time

TRAFFIC CONTROL FOREMAN

to oversee/manage our traffic control crews in the field. 50+ Hours a week. Health Insurance Available! Our traffic control crews play an essential role in keeping our employees and general public safe within and around the construction area. The crews are responsible for maintaining traffic flow around and through the designated construction zones.

Responsibilities include:

• Performing and overseeing traffic control and flagging activities as needed
• Use proper flagger techniques to control the flow of traffic and perform lane closures
• Assist in the placement, moving, and dismantling of signs, barricades, cones and other traffic control devices
• Follows safety rules and regulations on all work zone and flagging sites, including placing signs, barricades, traffic cones and other warning devices
• Set up a safe work zone with all necessary equipment.
• Report any safety hazards or traffic issues
• Must be able to stand for 8-12 hours and comfortable lifting 40-60lbs
• Must have a strong commitment to jobsite safety and be diligent in demonstrating safe work practices
• Provide leadership support and guidance to ensure that safety standards are met and maximized at all time
• Effectively communicate with your co-worker to conduct the flow of traffic
• Additional duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Must have experience in the Traffic Control industry and be knowledgeable of industry standard procedures and safety protocols.
• Driver's License required with a motor vehicle report that meets Texas State Utilities company guidelines to be considered for promotions.
• Comfortable standing.
• Comfortable working around a high volume of fast-moving traffic.
• This is an outdoor position and you will work in all weather conditions.
• Ability to multitask and have a heightened awareness of your surroundings.
