Job Description

HEC Powerline is currently seeking a qualified Powerline Instructor for its Stonecrest campus. The candidate will have proven longevity with previous employers, excellent oral and written communication skills, possess both physical and intellectual abilities to perform the duties of a powerline worker. The position requires a minimum THREE (3) years of
VERIFABLE
experience as a Powerline worker - Journeyman Lineman level and/or certification strongly preferred. Previous training experience not required, but preferred. Must be able to pass a criminal background check. As an Instructor at HEC Powerline, you will:
  • Contribute to training content for our 11 and 15-week Powerline Training Programs, and development of related operational needs.
  • Work with the Powerline Program Director to ensure class stability and structure
  • Assist in multiple training events in a college-wide, or community-based setting utilizing traditional or modern job training methods.
Minimum
JOB REQUIREMENTS
:
  • 3 years in linework (substation, transmission, underground or overhead distribution)
  • Must be able to climb wooden structures or possess the ability to learn.
  • Must meet all requirements for obtaining
OSHA 500
certification, or already possess
OSHA 500
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products including (but not limited to) Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • This job operates in a professional setting. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit or stand for extended periods of time. Normal manual dexterity is required.
  • Must have high school diploma or GED
  • Must have ability to communicate with other using oral and written skills
  • Must have physical, intellectual, and leadership abilities needed to perform the duties of powerline operation, and basic skills.
  • Must be team-oriented and results driven.
Job Type:
Part-time Pay:
$36.00 - $48.00 per hour
