We are hiring a Crane Technician to join the team in Peoria, IL. The Crane Technician will provide quality installation, inspections, maintenance and repair service for hoist and crane equipment. A Crane Technician will also uphold the highest level of professional integrity and ethics as required to instill customer confidence and continued success in service. Duties & Responsibilities Service overhead crane systems and hoists by performing quality installations. Perform OSHA equivalent inspections; documenting and completing warranty work; troubleshooting breakdowns. Perform preventive maintenance; and respond to emergency service/breakdown calls. Support customers by effectively interfacing with customer and office in repairing equipment as needed. Perform electrical and /or mechanical adjustments or repairs with or without engineered drawings. Maintain rapport with customers by examining complaints; identifying solutions; suggesting improved methods and techniques; and recommending system improvements. Document service and installation actions by completing forms, reports, and inspection checklist. Maintain professional presentation, timeliness, appearance, and organization in all areas. Develop a working knowledge of Federal, State, and local codes for overhead cranes and hoists. Responsible for company equipment including, company vehicle(s), tools, etc. Requirements Education & Qualifications 5 or more years' troubleshooting cranes and hoist equipment is required. Experience with 3-phase motors, VFDs, contactors, and circuits. Previous overhead crane and scissor lift experience required. Local travel to customers on a daily basis required. Associate's degree with concentration in Industrial Electrician, Electro-Mechanical Technology, preferred. Ability to work at height, in extreme temperature and noisy locations. This is a physically demanding job involving standing, walking, sitting and the ability to lift 50-100lbs. Perform inspections to OSHA criteria. Ability to work independently. Capable of dealing directly with the customer and representing self and company in a professional manner. Communication skills both internally and externally, informing both the company and the customer the status of the job. Quality and results driven while maintaining a safety mindset. Required to use own hand tools and meter. Must have a valid driver's license with a good driving record.
