Class A Lineman Electric Department Line Foreman (Non-exempt) SUMMARY Maintains and constructs electrical transmission/distribution lines and equipment located at various points throughout electric power system by performing the following duties:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Constructs and repairs overhead and underground lines and ancillary equipment. Searches out and repairs problems to restore power causing outages. Responds to customer complaints/problems. Trims trees to remove branches interfering with transmission/distribution lines. Conducts primary and secondary metering. Operates heavy equipment in the construction and maintenance of transmission/distribution lines.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervises and trains apprentice linemen and groundmen.
QUALIFICATIONS

EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and successful completion of a certified apprenticeship program; or 7000 hours of training as an apprentice lineman; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to speak effectively before customers and co-workers.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Page 1 REASONING ABILITY Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to use various software programs as required.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Class A Michigan Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Apprentice Lineman Certificate and Journeyman's Ticket Fork lift, bucket and digger derrick truck certification.
