Job Description
The Aerial Lineman is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of aerial telecommunications systems, including fiber optic and coaxial cable networks. This role involves working at heights, operating bucket trucks, and ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Install, lash, and secure fiber optic and coaxial cables to poles and aerial structures Perform strand construction, cable placement, and overlash operations Climb utility poles and operate bucket trucks to access aerial infrastructure Read and interpret construction prints, maps, and work orders Perform splicing preparation and basic troubleshooting as needed Maintain proper clearances and adhere to NESC and safety regulations Inspect and maintain tools, equipment, and vehicles Work closely with crew members to complete projects on time and within scope Ensure all work is performed in accordance with OSHA and company safety standardsQualifications:
Previous experience in aerial telecommunications construction preferred Ability to climb poles and work at heights in various weather conditions Experience operating bucket trucks and climbing gear Knowledge of fiber optic and coaxial cable installation techniques Ability to read prints and follow technical instructions Strong work ethic and ability to work in a team environmentCertifications & Requirements:
Valid driver's license (CDL preferred or ability to obtain) OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification preferred Ability to pass background check and drug screening Must be able to lift 50+ lbs and work in outdoor environmentsWork Environment:
