Job Overview Join our dynamic team as a Fiber Splicer and become a vital part of building and maintaining cutting-edge telecommunication networks. In this energetic role, you will be responsible for installing, splicing, and troubleshooting fiber optic cables to ensure seamless data transmission. Your expertise will help connect communities, support IT infrastructure, and enhance network performance. Duties Perform fiber optic splicing using fusion and mechanical splicing techniques to ensure optimal signal quality and network reliability Operate heavy equipment such as bucket trucks, lifts, and other construction machinery safely and efficiently during installation and maintenance tasks Install, route, and connect fiber cables in various environments including underground, aerial, and inside buildings following schematics and technical specifications Conduct cable testing, troubleshooting, and repairs to maintain high standards of network performance across LAN (Local Area Network), WAN (Wide Area Network), Ethernet, and telephony systems Use hand tools, power tools, and low voltage electrical experience to prepare cable routes, secure connections, and ensure compliance with safety standards Climb poles or structures as needed for aerial installations or repairs while adhering to safety protocols for climbing activities Collaborate with team members on IT infrastructure projects involving cabling, network infrastructure, schematics interpretation, and electrical systems Experience Proven experience in fiber splicing within a telecommunication or similar field service environment Strong background in heavy equipment operation including bucket trucks and construction machinery Familiarity with computer networking concepts such as LAN, Ethernet, WAN, low voltage wiring, and network infrastructure components Hands-on experience with hand tools, power tools, electrical wiring, schematics reading, and low voltage electrical systems Knowledge of telecommunication systems including telephony setup and maintenance Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions while maintaining safety standards for climbing and construction activities Previous experience in electrical work or construction projects involving fiber optics or IT infrastructure is highly desirable Embark on a career that energizes your skills in fiber optics while making a tangible impact on connectivity.
