Job Description
Cable Care Construction - Aerial Lineman Excellent opportunities to join a growing telecom construction firm in the Capital District. Commission/bonus pay based on projects completed as well as health care/dental/401k, disability insurance and paid vacation/holidays. The Aerial Lineman is responsible to work with a foreman to complete tasks as the physical construction/upgrade of Telecommunications/Cable systems in an outside plant environment. Duties May Include But Are Not Limited To Install and/or repair aerial CATV/internet, coaxial and fiber optic cable. Placing, relocating and removing cable. To include new build out of strand, lash and overlash. Transfers and repairs Commit to an on call schedule. Set up safety perimeter using signage, cones and safety barriers Skills & Qualifications 3+ years of experience in telecommunications construction required Knowledge and understanding of OSHA safety requirements to complete the job(s) safely Strong knowledge of CATV building practices Strong knowledge of CATV/Aerial field equipment Flagging certification preferred Ability to lift up to 70 lbs. Ability to work and climb up to 35 feet Ability to climb/gaff poles correctly Ability to splice coax and/or fiber optic cable desired Ability to read and understand CATV cable prints Ability to work on call including evenings and weekends as needed Ability to work under pressure and in a fast paced and quickly changing environment Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions Demonstrated leadership skills Valid driver's license required; CDL B preferred
