Job Summary EV Solar is hiring a Journeyman Lineman to support customer-side medium voltage work on large, ground-mounted solar projects. This is a hands-on field role focused on utility-style distribution work in active outdoor environments.
Note:
This role requires direct experience with medium voltage (MV) distribution and line work. Candidates with only commercial or residential electrician experience will not be considered. Responsibilities:
Perform medium voltage electrical work (typically 5kV-35kV) on utility-scale solar projects Install, maintain, and troubleshoot overhead and underground MV distribution systems Perform terminations, splicing, grounding, and transformer connections Assist with pole setting, wire stringing, and line construction activities Follow switching procedures and support energized work in accordance with safety protocols Support testing, inspections, commissioning, and energization of MV systems Work closely with field crews and other trades to support daily operations Maintain a clean and organized worksite and ensure proper handling of tools and equipment Accurately document work performed and report progress, issues, or safety concerns Work Requirements 5-10+ years of medium voltage (5kV-35kV) or utility distribution experience Hands-on experience with overhead and/or underground line work Experience working in field environments (not limited to indoor electrical work) Strong understanding of MV systems, electrical drawings, and one-line diagrams Experience operating bucket trucks, digger derricks, or line equipment Commitment to safety, quality, and professional field execution OSHA 10 required, OSHA 30 preferred (or willingness to obtain) Valid driver's license (CDL is a plus) Willingness to travel and work outdoors on active construction sites Not a Fit For Candidates with experience limited to commercial or residential electrical work Experience focused on conduit, panels, or interior building installations only Low voltage or building electrical systems without MV or utility distribution exposure Preferred Solar, renewable energy, or power generation project experience NFPA 70E
