This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse infrastructure projects, utilizing specialized equipment to execute precise trenching, utility installation, and excavation tasks. Duties Operate the Ditch Witch 410SX trencher with precision to excavate trenches for utilities, cables, and pipelines. Conduct routine inspections and maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety compliance. Assist with the setup and rigging of heavy machinery and tools required for excavation tasks. Use hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment to support installation and repair activities on-site. Perform utility locating using specialized equipment to identify underground cables, pipes, and electrical lines before digging. Execute cabling, fiber splicing, and electrical wiring tasks as needed for project completion. Collaborate with team members to coordinate excavation activities, including bucket operation and loader handling, ensuring smooth workflow. Follow safety protocols diligently, including climbing safety procedures when working at heights or with bucket trucks. Experience Proven experience operating heavy construction equipment such as dozers, excavators, loaders, backhoes, and bucket trucks. Knowledge of high voltage and low voltage electrical systems, including cabling and electrical experience. Hands-on experience with fiber splicing and utility locating techniques. Mechanical knowledge related to rigging, welding, and the use of hand tools and power tools in construction settings. Familiarity with construction site safety standards and procedures. Ability to perform climbing activities safely at heights when required for bucket operation or site inspections. Prior experience working on infrastructure projects involving heavy equipment operation and utility installation is highly desirable.
