Job Description

Summary:
A Qualified Transmission Lineman is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical transmission lines. These professionals work on high-voltage power lines that transport electricity from power plants to substations and, ultimately, to residential, commercial, and industrial users. Safety and technical expertise are essential for this role.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Install, maintain, and repair high-voltage transmission lines and structures. Follow safety standards and conduct inspections to ensure compliance with regulations. Operate and maintain specialized equipment and tools for line work. Read blueprints, perform electrical calculations, and troubleshoot issues. Work with team members, communicate effectively, and train apprentices. Respond to outages and emergencies to restore power in various conditions.
Requirements:
Proven experience as an electrical worker. In-depth knowledge of electrical systems and their components. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and in a team environment. Relevant license and certification. Active CDL license. Willingness to travel.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent. Completion of an electrician apprenticeship program or equivalent training and experience. Candidates that accept an offer of employment are required to undergo and successfully complete a pre-employment physical examination. This exam is essential to ensure that all potential employees meet the necessary health and fitness standards for the role. The examination includes a series of tests and evaluations conducted by a certified medical professional to assess overall physical health, identify any potential medical conditions that could interfere with job performance, and verify that the candidate is capable of safely performing the essential duties of the position. Completion and clearance of this physical are mandatory steps in the hiring process.
