Vernal, UT Deseret Power is seeking a highly skilled, safety-minded Lead Journeyman Lineman to join our team. This position plays a critical role in the construction, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of overhead electrical transmission systems. The ideal candidate is a motivated leader with strong technical expertise, a commitment to safety, and the ability to perform in challenging weather and field conditions. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Lead and perform the construction, maintenance, and repair of overhead transmission and electrical systems. Install poles, conductors, transformers, insulators, and related electrical equipment. Climb poles and steel structures and work from bucket trucks and aerial equipment at varying heights. Operate specialized line equipment including bucket trucks, digger derricks, winches, and other heavy equipment. Troubleshoot electrical outages and respond to emergency restoration efforts. Interpret blueprints, construction drawings, schematics, staking sheets, and switching orders. Ensure compliance with all OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and industry best practices. Participate in on-call rotations and respond to after-hours emergencies, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Mentor and assist less experienced line personnel while promoting a strong safety culture. QualificationsRequired Completion of an accredited Lineman Apprenticeship Program or equivalent experience. Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL), or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire. Demonstrated ability to climb poles and steel towers and perform physically demanding work. Ability to lift and carry 75 pounds or more. Strong knowledge of electrical transmission and distribution systems. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Willingness to work overtime and emergency callouts as required. Preferred Journeyman Lineman Certification. Five (5) or more years of utility or electrical line work experience. Experience performing energized (hotline/live-line) work. Current First Aid and CPR certifications. Previous leadership or crew lead experience.
