Job Description

Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Lineman to join our energy and utilities operations team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing overhead and underground electrical systems that deliver power safely and reliably to communities. The ideal candidate will possess extensive electrical experience, including high-voltage wiring, field service expertise, and proficiency with utility electrical systems. This position offers an opportunity to work on complex projects involving utility infrastructure, ensuring safety standards are upheld while delivering exceptional service. Responsibilities Install, repair, and maintain overhead line systems, underground cables, and utility electrical infrastructure with precision and adherence to safety protocols. Conduct electrical diagnostics and troubleshooting on utility systems to identify faults or inefficiencies. Perform high-voltage electrical wiring tasks, relay testing, and electrical blueprint reading to support system integrity. Operate bucket trucks and perform climbing activities safely while utilizing personal protective equipment (PPE). Execute tree trimming around power lines and perform utility locating to prevent service disruptions. Follow electrical safety procedures rigorously during all field service operations. Assist in construction site activities related to utility projects, including cabling and conduit installation. Conduct relay testing and use instruments such as ohmmeters for system verification. Read electrical blueprints accurately to guide installation and maintenance tasks. Engage in high-voltage work with strict compliance to NEC (National Electrical Code) standards. Requirements Proven experience as a Lineman or in a similar role within the energy & utilities sector. Extensive knowledge of overhead line systems, utility electrical systems, and low voltage wiring. Skilled in rigging, welding, electrical diagnostics, relay testing, and high-voltage electrical wiring. Experience working with bucket trucks, bucket operation, climbing techniques, and tree trimming around power lines. Familiarity with NEC standards, electrical blueprint reading, utility locating, and cabling procedures. Strong understanding of electrical safety procedures and PPE use in field environments. Ability to read technical blueprints and schematics accurately. Experience working on construction sites with utility infrastructure projects. Knowledge of IT infrastructure as it relates to utility systems is a plus. Valid certifications in electrical safety procedures; relevant licenses for high-voltage work preferred.
