Lead Field Decommission Technician Sunbelt Solomon United States, Kansas, Solomon 129 West Main Street (Show on map) Apr 02, 2026 Join a team committed to powering progress-responsibly. In addition to manufacturing, repairing, and recycling transformers, we support customers with environmentally responsible field services that ensure safe, compliant handling of electrical infrastructure. Our work helps extend equipment life cycles, reduce environmental impact, and maintain the reliability of the nation's power grid. As a Lead Field Decommissioning Technician, you'll take ownership of the project from start to finish-overseeing a field team of 2-6 technicians, ensuring all work is performed safely, accurately, and in full compliance with customer and regulatory requirements. This role requires a confident leader who can guide others in the field, uphold the highest safety standards, and maintain clear, professional communication with both internal leadership and customer representatives. You'll be responsible for coordinating daily tasks, monitoring team performance, and ensuring that project goals, timelines, and quality expectations are consistently met. What You'll Do Dismantle and remove equipment, materials, and infrastructure from operational sites using hand tools, pneumatic tools, plasma cutters, and AO equipment.
Operate heavy machinery-including excavators and telehandlers-safely and efficiently.
Work in demanding environments and extended shifts while maintaining professionalism and productivity.
Follow all safety and environmental procedures, including spill-containment protocols and incident reporting.
Complete assigned work orders and documentation accurately and on time.
Travel up to 80% of the time, including frequent overnights.
High School Diploma or GED.
Valid driver's license (CDL preferred).
Strong mechanical background with experience working under deadlines.
Ability to operate or learn excavators, telehandlers, and similar equipment.
Proficiency with hand, electric, and pneumatic tools; torch/rigging experience helpful.
Physical ability to perform strenuous labor and work in varied environmental conditions.
Commitment to strict safety and environmental compliance. Preferred Attributes Self-motivated problem-solver with strong attention to detail.
Reliable team player who can also work independently in fast-paced conditions.
Comfortable with extensive travel and adapting to changing job site conditions.
