Jacobs is looking for an Arc Flash, Confined Space Entry & Lockout/Tagout Instructor to join our team. In this role, you'll be responsible for developing, delivering, and maintaining technical safety training programs focused on electrical safety, arc flash hazard awareness, permit-required confined space entry, confined space rescue awareness, and hazardous energy control. You'll serve as a subject-matter expert for
OSHA, NFPA
70E, and related industry safety requirements and be responsible for training employees, contractors, supervisors, maintenance personnel, operations staff, and qualified electrical workers to recognize hazards, apply safe work practices, select appropriate PPE, follow permit and energy-control procedures, and prevent serious injury or fatality. You'll provide instruction across Arc Flash / Electrical Safety, Permit-Required Confined Space, and Lockout/Tagout under
NFPA 70E, OSHA 29 CFR
1910.146, and
OSHA 29 CFR 1910.147
with the capability of delivering both classroom and hands-on field training, customizing materials to site-specific hazards, evaluating trainee competency, and supporting audits, inspections, incident reviews, and safety program improvements.
Specific responsibilities include:
Arc Flash and Electrical Safety Teach
NFPA 70E
concepts, OSHA electrical safety requirements, and company-specific electrical safety procedures, explain arc flash boundaries, protection boundaries, hazard risk reduction, educate on proper PPE selection, arc-rated clothing, voltage-rated tools, energized work permits, Reinforce safe work practices for low-voltage, medium-voltage, industrial, utility, manufacturing, and facility environments. Confined Space and PRCS Training Teach OSHA Permit-Required Confined Space requirements, including 29 CFR 1910.146 training entrants, attendants, entry supervisors, and affected personnel on their roles and responsibilities. Explain permit systems, entry procedures, hazard evaluations, atmospheric hazards, oxygen deficiency, toxic gases, flammables, and physical hazards. Demonstrate or instruct on gas detection equipment, continuous monitoring, ventilation systems, isolation methods, and rescue awareness. Support confined space site walkdowns, identification of confined spaces, and training-needs assessments. Coordinate training content for industrial, municipal, utility, wastewater, manufacturing, construction, or heavy infrastructure environments. Lockout/Tagout and Hazardous Energy Control Teach OSHA Lockout/Tagout requirements under 29 CFR 1910.147 and explain authorized, affected, and other employee responsibilities. Train employees on hazardous energy sources, isolation methods, lockout/tagout devices, stored energy, release of energy, and verification steps. Reinforce site-specific energy control procedures and equipment-specific lockout/tagout processes. Integrate LOTO training with electrical safety and confined space isolation requirements. CPR Conduct CPR, First Aid, and AED training courses for diverse audiences by teaching both theoretical and hands-on practical skills Stay current on CPR guidelines, instructional methods, and recertification requirements Bring your team-focus, adaptability, and commitment to excellence, and we'll help you grow what drives you - and deliver the world's most challenging Operations Management projects, together. #omfs #ourjacobs #challengeaccepted Here's what you'll need Minimum 10 years of experience in electrical work, industrial safety, utilities, manufacturing, maintenance, operations, construction, wastewater, municipal infrastructure, or a related field.
Strong working knowledge of:

Hands-on experience with electrical safety, confined space entry, hazardous energy control, or industrial maintenance activities. Ability to explain technical safety concepts to audiences with varying levels of experience. Strong communication, presentation, facilitation, and adult-learning skills. Ability to conduct classroom instruction, field demonstrations, hands-on exercises, and practical evaluations. Ability to maintain accurate training records and certification documentation. Willingness and ability to travel to job sites, facilities, or client locations as needed. Ideally, You'll Also Have Journeyman Electrician, Master Electrician, Electrical Engineer, electrical technician, safety professional, or equivalent technical background. OSHA Authorized Trainer, General Industry and/or Construction.
NFPA 70E
Certified Electrical Safety Compliance Professional, CESCP, or equivalent electrical safety credential. CSP, ASP, CHST, or comparable safety certification. Confined space rescue team experience or confined space rescue instructor background. Experience using or teaching atmospheric monitoring equipment, ventilation equipment, rescue-awareness concepts, and emergency response coordination. Experience performing or reviewing arc flash risk assessments, arc flash studies, labels, incident energy calculations, or energized work permits. Experience in utilities, wastewater, manufacturing, data centers, oil and gas, heavy construction, government, or large industrial environments. Prior train-the-trainer certification or curriculum development experience. Working Conditions Safety is a core value at Jacobs. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
