Full Job Description Senior Transformer Installation Supervisor Compensation:
$140,000 - $175,000 + Benefits + 3 weeks
PTO + 401K
Match Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Senior Transformer Installation Supervisor to lead the installation of high-voltage power transformers (230kV+) across utility and energy infrastructure projects throughout North America. This role is responsible for site safety, installation quality, schedule execution, and field team leadership from transformer delivery through commissioning support. Key Responsibilities Lead all site safety activities and ensure compliance with OSHA, customer, and company requirements. Plan, coordinate, and supervise daily transformer installation activities to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and to quality standards. Oversee transformer positioning, assembly, accessory installation, HV lead connections, vacuum processing, oil filling, and testing activities. Ensure all work is performed in accordance with engineering drawings, procedures, and customer specifications. Troubleshoot and resolve field installation issues while minimizing project delays. Provide daily progress updates to Project Management and support communication with customers and stakeholders. Develop and update installation procedures, SOPs, and work instructions. Train and mentor installation technicians on best practices, SAT, functional testing, and oil processing procedures. Support inspections, punch-list completion, and project handover activities. Qualifications Degree, diploma, or technical certification in Electrical, Mechanical, or related field preferred. 8+ years of experience in the installation, commissioning, or servicing of 230kV+ power transformers. Demonstrated experience leading field crews on utility, substation, or large-scale energy projects. Technical Experience Transformer positioning and rigging activities. Mechanical assembly, bushing installation, HV lead connections, and insulation work. Vacuum oil filling, oil filtration systems, and dry air generators. SAT, functional testing, and operation of transformer testing equipment. Wiring and termination of transformer accessories and control cabinets. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams. Working knowledge of transformer diagnostics, DGA, and quality issue investigation. Additional Requirements OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 preferred. Strong leadership, communication, and safety management skills. Willingness to travel extensively throughout North America.
Pay:
$140,000.00 - $175,000.00 per year
