Our company assists the wind farms during construction, operations, and preventive maintenance to guarantee clean and renewable wind energy power production. Each turbine we work on provides enough energy to power 3,000 homes per month. Tech Wind Services is also the leader in Brazil and Argentina for wind tower inspection and blade repair services.
Job Summary :
In this role, you will be performing repairs as a Service Technician/Welder on wind turbines.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Perform welding tasks, including structural repairs following technical drawings and specifications . Adhere to all safety protocols, including lockout/tagout procedures and fall protection requirements during operations at heights (if applicable). Conduct pre-task risk assessments to identify hazards and implement mitigation measures. Maintain and inspect tools and equipment, ensuring they are in proper working condition and calibrated when necessary. Report repair activities, and inspections in logs or digital systems for tracking and compliance purposes. Work closely with other technicians, engineers, and site managers to coordinate maintenance schedules and ensure turbine up time. Provide support during repairs/inspections when needed. Wind Turbine repairs. Travel to various wind farm locations, often in remote areas, and adapt to different working environments and weather conditions. Stay updated on advancements in welding techniques and wind turbine technology. Participate in training and certification programs to enhance skills and knowledge.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Welder certification required. Experience in Welding. This role demands physical fitness, attention to detail, and a commitment to upholding the highest safety and quality standards in renewable energy operations. Must be comfortable working at heights of up to 300 feet. Ability to climb a wind turbine up to 300 feet Ability and willingness to work in all weather conditions Must be local to the Dallas-Fort Worth Area. Must be willing to travel 90% of the time. Must have attention to detail to ensure quality work. Must be able to lift 50 pounds. Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions. Candidate must be able to successfully complete and pass background and drug screening. Must have a valid driver's license.
Education and Experience:
High School diploma or equivalent is required.
Welding Certificate Pay:
$25.00 - $27.00 per hour
