This position focuses on utility-scale battery energy storage systems, also known as BESS, along with solar energy sites. No previous electrical or renewable energy experience is required. We are willing to train the right person. Responsibilities As a Traveling Battery Storage Technician, you will assist with: Battery energy storage system maintenance Site inspections and basic equipment checks Troubleshooting support Commissioning activities Annual maintenance Cleaning and organizing work areas Checking cables, connectors, equipment, and enclosures Following safety procedures and site rules Using basic hand tools and testing equipment Reporting issues to lead technicians or supervisors Traveling to renewable energy sites as needed Requirements No experience required Must be willing to travel Must have a strong work ethic Must be dependable and show up on time Must be able to pass a drug test Must be able to pass a background check Must have reliable transportation Must be comfortable working outdoors Must be able to lift 50 lbs when needed Must be willing to learn electrical and renewable energy basics Must follow safety rules at all times Preferred but Not Required Experience with tools Construction, mechanical, solar, electrical, or maintenance background OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Basic computer skills Ability to read simple instructions, checklists, or work plans What We're Looking For We are looking for people who want more than just a job.
