This entry-level role is designed for individuals eager to build skills in mechanical and electrical maintenance, as well as troubleshooting equipment in a fast-paced production environment. You will work alongside experienced maintenance technicians to help ensure machinery runs safely, efficiently, and in compliance with food safety standards.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist in performing routine maintenance and repairs on production equipment, packaging lines, conveyors, and facility systems. Learn to diagnose mechanical, electrical, and basic PLC issues under the guidance of senior maintenance staff. Support preventative maintenance programs to reduce unplanned downtime. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and parts usage. Adhere to all safety, hygiene, and food quality standards set by the company and regulatory bodies. Participate in training sessions, workshops, and on-the-job learning to build technical knowledge and skills. Assist with installations, equipment overhauls, and upgrades as needed. Keep tools, equipment, and work areas clean and organized.
QUALIFICATIONS
Must be 18 years or older.
Education:
High School Diploma and or trade related training. Strong interest in maintenance, engineering, or manufacturing operations. Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn about tools, equipment, and systems. Ability to follow instructions, work collaboratively, and communicate effectively. Must be reliable, safety-conscious, and able to work in a physically demanding environment (standing, lifting, climbing). Ability to independently manage daily work assignments and ensure follow-up to completion. Possess good interpersonal skills and good oral and written communication skills. Familiarity with multiple operational systems such as HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Pneumatics, Compressors, etc.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This job operates both in an office setting and production facility environment. The production environment may be cold, wet, and/or warm. The position at times requires the use of ladders, perform work on the roof of the building, operate a man lift and/or forklift. Use of standard PPE (hairnets, safety glasses and beard nets, masks and shields).
