Job Type:
Full Time Reports to: Maintenance Manager Job Summary The Maintenance Assistant supports the factory maintenance team by helping maintain machinery, equipment, and facilities to ensure safe, efficient, and uninterrupted production. This role assists with preventive maintenance, basic mechanical repairs, and general upkeep of the production environment, while adhering to all safety and food-grade hygiene requirements. Key Responsibilities Assist maintenance technicians with routine and preventive maintenance on factory machinery and equipment Perform basic mechanical repairs and adjustments under supervision Help troubleshoot minor equipment faults; promptly report major issues to the Maintenance Manager/lead technician Maintain cleanliness and organization of maintenance areas and production floors Lubricate machinery and replace basic components (e.g., belts, filters, fittings) as instructed Assist with the installation, relocation, and removal of machinery and equipment Conduct regular inspections of tools, machines, guards, and safety devices; report defects or unsafe conditions Follow all factory safety procedures, lockout/tagout (LOTO) requirements, and PPE standards Support emergency repairs to minimize production downtime Qualifications & Requirements High school diploma or equivalent Basic understanding of mechanical systems and industrial equipment Ability to safely use common hand and power tools Ability to follow written and verbal technical instructions and safety guidelines Ability to stand for extended periods and lift/move materials as required Willingness to work 12-hour shifts (days or nights), overtime, and weekends as required Physically capable of lifting, carrying, and handling equipment up to 50 lbs. regularly Utilized strong hand-eye coordination for precision repairs and maintenance
Preferred:
Previous experience in a manufacturing or factory maintenance environment
Preferred :
Basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, or hydraulic systems
Preferred:

From $19.00 per hour
