Job Description Do you love being in the middle of the action? We're looking for a high-energy Maintenance Assistant I to help transform our venues from empty arenas into world-class stages. From the roar of a sold-out basketball game to the prestige of a graduation ceremony, you are the pro behind the scenes, making it all happen.
The Role The Transformer:
Assist the Crew Lead with setup and teardown for concerts, banquets, and high-stakes basketball games and volleyball matches.The Heavy Hitter:
Handle the big stuff - installing portable basketball floor, building stages, and operating a forklift to get the job done safely.The Fix-It Expert:
Keep the Joyce Center in championship shape using your skills in carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and general repairs.Safety First:

Qualifications High school diploma or GED 1 to 2 years hand's on experience A valid driver's license is required Must have the ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs., climb & perform work on step & extension ladders, and work on feet 100% of the time each day General knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and carpentry skills is required, as well as a working knowledge of hand and power tools Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as dictated by the Joyce Center's event calendar Strong organizational and logistical planning skills with the ability to manage multiple complex tasks simultaneously under tight deadlines Demonstrated proficiency in standard computer applications, including the ability to manage work orders, input scheduling data, track inventory, and communicate effectively via email and digital platforms Experience with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) or similar work management software is highly preferred Additional Information Rate of pay: $23.00/hour Applications accepted through May 24, 2026 The University of Notre Dame seeks to attract, develop, and retain the highest quality faculty, staff and administration.
