The sanctuary, a model wetlands restoration project, offers nature trails and observation decks. Position Title:

Maintenance Laborer Summary :

Perform semi-skilled work in the maintenance and repair of a hotel property.

Duties :

Furniture moving Carpet cleaning Snow removal Minor maintenance tickets such as replacing light bulbs, painting walls, caulking, clogged sinks, etc. Prioritize, manage and track work flow Operate, inspect and test machinery or equipment Use hand-tools and power tools Carry and move large objects Use cleaning solutions Use painting tools, paints and stains Pick up and dispose of litter Perform general grounds and parking lot maintenance Operate company vehicle Communicate with other hotel departments and shifts as needed to meet guest's needs and maintain smooth operation of property functions Keep work areas clean and orderly Assist with luggage and laundry as needed Observe health and safety precautions required to protect people and property Report damage, theft, and found articles to management All other duties as assigned

Education, Knowledge and Skills :

Valid Alaska Driver's License required Current driving record sufficient to meet company insurance standards required Basic knowledge of general tools and use Basic knowledge of general maintenance and repair Basic knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions preferred Able to work independently with minimal supervision Able to work effectively as part of a team Able to complete tasks in a timely manner Customer service skills and knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service, to include assessing needs, meeting quality standards, and evaluating customer satisfaction Able to lift 60 lbs. Able to troubleshoot; determine causes of operating errors and decide best course of action Able to perform basic maintenance and repairs using the appropriate tools Able to perform physical activities that require considerable use and dexterity of arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing and descending stairs and ladders, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, tugging, balancing, walking, standing, stooping, bending, twisting, squatting, kneeling, reaching, laying down and handling of materials
