Job Description
The Maintenance Lead shall act as support staff to the maintenance supervisor concerning the execution of all maintenance and assigned tasks within their assigned area of responsibility, including oversight of the team of maintenance technicians, assigning tasks, ensuring timely completion of repairs and maintenance activities on facilities and equipment, while prioritizing safety and adhering to company standards, often by evaluating system needs, managing work orders, and providing technical guidance to team members. In the absence of the production supervisor the Lead will supervise employees throughout the department while carrying out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and procedures. Comply and enforce all applicable good manufacturing, safety, and quality assurance practices. Assist with the interviewing and hiring of employees. Assist with the planning and preparation of training and orientation for new maintenance team members. Provide technical expertise to the team, troubleshooting complex issues, and assisting with repairs when necessary. Support supervision in the planning, assigning, and directing of work. Contribute to the rewarding and discipline of employees, as well as addressing complaints and resolving problems. Monitor team performance, provide feedback, identify training needs, and address performance concerns. Oversight and coordination of work performed by maintenance technicians. Collaboration with department supervisors, leads, and operators to ensure safe, efficient, and effective maintenance is performed on equipment. Collaborate with team members to discuss upcoming work assignments; delegates assignments based on team members skills and experience. Maintain proper documentation in all record keeping formats. Coordination with other departments to address maintenance needs, communicating updates on work progress, and escalating issues as needed. Provide and maintain a positive teamwork environment. Assist with general cleaning and housekeeping throughout the plant as needed. Works with maintenance supervisor to coordinate topics for safety meetings.
