Job Summary:
The Maintenance Manager is a department leader responsible for the overall direction, organization, and performance of the hotel's Maintenance Department. This role is focused on leading people, building systems, and ensuring the team has the tools, training, and resources needed to operate effectively. The position requires a hands-on understanding of hotel maintenance operations, but success in the role is defined by leadership, planning, staff development, communication, and accountability.Job Specifications:

Leadership & Team Development Lead, motivate, and manage the Maintenance Team with a strong focus on accountability, engagement, and attention to detail. Ensure staff are properly trained, cross-trained, and equipped with the skills needed to perform their roles effectively Identify skill gaps and coordinate ongoing training, coaching, and development opportunities Foster a culture of teamwork, service excellence, and continuous improvement Compliance & Regulatory Oversight Ensure the property complies with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations, including life safety, building codes, environmental standards, and pool health department requirements Maintain up-to-date documentation related to inspections, certifications, permits, and regulatory reporting Serve as the primary point of contact for inspections related to facilities, safety systems, and pool operations Department Organization & Oversight Organize and structure the maintenance operation to ensure efficiency, prioritization, and consistency Establish clear processes, expectations, schedules, and workflows for preventive and reactive maintenance Ensure effective communication within the department and with leadership and other departments Proactively plan maintenance activities to minimize guest impact and operational disruptions Resource & Asset Management Ensure the department has the proper tools, equipment, supplies, and vendor support to operate effectively Oversee inventory management, purchasing, and cost control related to maintenance operations Manage vendor relationships and service contracts as needed Property Standards & Preventive Maintenance Oversee the preventive maintenance program to maintain guest rooms, public spaces, back-of-house area and pool facilities. Ensure the property consistently meets brand standards, safety requirements, and regulatory compliance Identify risks or recurring issues and implement long-term solutions rather than short-term fixes Collaboration & Communication Partner closely with Resort Leadership, Housekeeping, Front Office, and other departments to support overall hotel operations Communicates department performance, needs, and challenges clearly and professionally Serve as a visible leader who represents the department in meetings and property initiativesJob Requirements:
Proven experience leading teams in maintenance, facilities, or building operations (hospitality preferred) Demonstrated ability to lead, organize, and develop staff, in addition to performing technical work Strong planning, communication, and problem-solving skills Working knowledge of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, year-round outdoor pool and general repairs) Ability to balance strategic oversight with situational hands-on support when needed Preferred Prior hotel or hospitality maintenance leadership experience Experience implementing or improving preventive maintenance programs Pool Operator Certification (CPO) or equivalent The expected pay range is $68,000 - $93,494.73 + annual bonus.
