Maintenance Mechanic (CNC Environment) - Alsip, IL $40/hour | 1st Shift The Opportunity A well-established manufacturer in Alsip, IL is looking for a skilled Maintenance Mechanic who wants more than just a job — someone who takes pride in keeping machines running, solving problems before they become shutdowns, and owning their work. Monday - Friday | 6:00 AM - 2:30

PM Pay:

$40/hour No mandatory overtime. No rotating shifts. No surprises. What Your Days Look Like You'll be the go-to mechanic for a fleet of CNC machines plus additional production and facility equipment. Day to day, that means: Diagnosing and repairing electrical and mechanical issues on CNC and production equipment Performing preventive maintenance — lubrication, inspections, adjustments, and repairs Troubleshooting PLC systems and reading ladder logic Working with pneumatics and hydraulics — valves, actuators, schematics Disassembling and reassembling machinery for repairs and upgrades Reading blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals Getting to the root cause of breakdowns — not just patching them Keeping accurate documentation, logs, and work orders Ordering parts and managing your own supply needs Pitching in on general facility maintenance as needed Holding yourself to a high standard of safety and organization What You Bring to the Table 3-5+ years of industrial maintenance experience Strong electrical troubleshooting — motors, relays, switches, AC/DC systems Hands-on PLC troubleshooting and ladder logic experience Solid understanding of pneumatics and basic hydraulics Comfortable reading schematics and using diagnostic tools (voltmeter, etc.) Welding experience is a plus Ability to lift up to 50 lbs A sharp eye for detail, a commitment to safety, and the ability to communicate clearly with the team around you Why Mechanics Like This Role ✅ Stable company — a reputable manufacturer with a long track record ✅ First shift, every week — be home for dinner, every night ✅ No overtime pressure — your time outside work is yours ✅ Real ownership — you're not one of ten mechanics.
