Back To Results Maintenance Mechanic Job Description Requirements:
High School diploma or equivalent Four (4) years' experience troubleshooting, repairing and maintaining hydraulic/ mechanical equipment. Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair and maintenance. Use tools ranging from common hand and power tools, such as hammer, hoists, saws, drills and wrenches, to precision measuring instruments and electrical and electronic testing devices. Knowledge and prediction of physical principles, laws, their interrelationships, and application to understanding fluid, material, and, mechanical, electrical, structures and processes. Performing routine maintenance on equipment and determine when and what kind of maintenance is needed. Repairing machines or systems using the needed tools. Determining causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it. Watching gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly. Installing equipment, machines, wiring or programs to meet specifications Determining the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job. The ability to quickly and repeatedly adjust the controls of a machine or a vehicle to exact positions. The ability to bend, stretch, twist or reach with your body, arms, and/or legs. The ability to arrange things or actions in a certain order or pattern according to a specific rule or set of rules (e.g., patterns of numbers, letters, words, pictures, mathematical operations). Must be capable of reading wiring schematics, sketching electrical circuit components and their wiring. Must have initial RCRA training and annual RCRA refresher training along with on the job training specific to the assigned job.
Responsibilities:
Provide emergency/ unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production. Performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment on down time. Analyze test results, machine error messages, and information obtained from operators in order to diagnose equipment problems. Clean, lubricate and adjust parts, equipment and machinery. Disassemble machinery and equipment to remove parts and make repairs. Repair or replace defective equipment parts using hand tools and power tools and reassemble equipment. Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently and the physical condition of our buildings does not deteriorate. Inspect drives, motors, and belts, check fluid levels, replace filters, and perform other maintenance actions, following checklists. Examine parts for defects such as breakage and excessive wear. Observe and test the operation of machinery and equipment in order to diagnose malfunctions, using voltmeters and other testing devices. Operate newly repaired machinery and equipment to verify the adequacy of repairs. Reassemble equipment after completion of inspection, testing, or repairs. Repair and maintain the operating condition of industrial production and processing machinery and equipment. Perform maintenance from work orders, preventative work orders (PM's) as well as from written and verbal instructions. Utilize basic mechanical knowledge to repair other mechanical and hydraulic equipment as well as electrical equipment. Perform other duties as required Operate Forklifts & Aerial lifts
