Job Description

Job Title:
Maintenance Mechanic $22-$30/hour 1st Shift Job Description This role focuses on maintaining and operating manufacturing equipment. You will support daily production by operating machines, transporting materials, performing basic mechanical repairs, and safely handling forklifts. The position requires someone who enjoys hands-on mechanical work, feels comfortable working both indoors and outdoors year-round, and takes pride in keeping equipment running efficiently and safely. Responsibilities Bring materials and supplies to machine operators to keep production lines running smoothly. Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair basic issues on production machinery and related equipment. Perform preventive maintenance on machinery to minimize downtime and extend equipment life. Operate a forklift to safely load and unload trailers and move pallets and materials around the yard and facility. Assist in the overall manufacturing process by operating various machines and supporting production activities as needed. Use hand tools, power tools, and basic shop equipment to perform repairs and adjustments. Work with hydraulic and pneumatic systems as part of equipment maintenance and repair. Read and interpret blueprints or basic technical information to support equipment repairs and adjustments. Inspect equipment regularly to identify potential issues and address them before they cause production interruptions. Manage scrap wood piles by assessing whether materials are reusable or should be disposed of, and organize them accordingly. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area, including shop spaces and outdoor yard areas. Work comfortably inside the facility and outdoors throughout all seasons of the year. Follow all safety procedures when operating machinery, forklifts, and handling materials. Collaborate with production and operations teams to prioritize repairs and maintenance tasks based on production needs. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with diesel equipment maintenance or repair. Welding experience or exposure to welding in a shop or field environment. Experience in construction, farm equipment, or farming, especially involving repair and maintenance of tractors or similar machinery. Hands-on experience working on cars, trucks, or other vehicles as a hobby or in a professional setting. Experience in production management or supporting production operations is a plus.
