Overview Join our dynamic manufacturing facility as a Maintenance Mechanic - Multicraft, where your technical expertise will keep our operations running smoothly and efficiently. Duties The Maintenance Mechanic - Multicraft position is responsible for installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining production equipment, basic facility systems, and related plant infrastructure in an industrial manufacturing environment. This role is primarily focused on mechanical maintenance, preventive maintenance, emergency repairs, root-cause problem solving, equipment rebuilds, and general facility support, with basic electrical troubleshooting used as needed for safe maintenance work. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and lockout/tagout requirements.
  • Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production equipment and basic facility systems.
  • Perform mechanical maintenance on bearings, chains and sprockets, gearboxes, conveyors, hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps, rollers, cutters, ovens, drives, and similar equipment.
  • Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, repairs, and rebuilds on machinery and support equipment.
  • Provide emergency and unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production as needed.
  • Troubleshoot recurring equipment failures and assist in identifying root causes to reduce repeat downtime.
  • Read and interpret mechanical drawings, equipment manuals, work orders, and basic electrical schematics as needed to complete repairs safely.
  • Perform machine alignment, component replacement, lubrication, adjustment, and general repair work.
  • Support basic facility and building maintenance, including lighting, plumbing, and general building repairs.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, precision measuring tools, and maintenance equipment in the performance of duties.
  • Perform basic electrical tasks within skill level and company policy, such as disconnecting motors, replacing fuses, and supporting safe mechanical repairs.
  • Help restart and return production lines to operation following breakdowns, maintenance work, or changeovers.
  • Support maintenance-related projects, equipment installations, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas.
  • Document completed work and communicate equipment issues clearly to maintenance and operations leadership.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation approximately one week per month to support plant operations.
  • Work overtime or weekends as needed during major breakdowns, shutdowns, or special projects.
  • Provide your own basic hand tools.
  • Perform other duties, activities, or responsibilities as assigned. Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Technical training or an associate degree in industrial maintenance or a related field preferred.
  • Five or more years of maintenance experience in an industrial manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair experience required.
  • Experience with bearings, chains and sprockets, gearboxes, conveyors, hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps, and general machinery maintenance.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, equipment manuals, and work orders.
  • Basic electrical knowledge required for safe support work, including motor disconnects and fuse replacement.
  • Ability to diagnose equipment issues, make sound repairs, and work with minimal supervision.
  • Basic computer skills required and willingness to learn CMMS or work-order systems.
  • Strong attention to safety, quality, detail, and follow-through.
  • Ability to support both production equipment and general facility maintenance in a fast-paced plant environment. Preferred Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
  • Welding and fabrication experience preferred, but not required.
  • Experience with machine alignment, component rebuilds, and fabrication support.
  • LOTO, OSHA, or welding-related certifications preferred.
  • Forklift or aerial lift experience is helpful; training will be provided .
  • Strong troubleshooting mindset with the ability to identify practical corrective actions.
Pay:
$35.00 per hour
