Overview The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for leading 2nd shift maintenance operations within a fast-paced manufacturing environment at The Marzetti Company's College Park location. This role provides direct leadership to maintenance technicians while supporting plant equipment reliability, troubleshooting efforts, preventative maintenance execution, and technician development. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring a strong floor presence and the ability to coach, mentor, and develop maintenance technicians in a highly reactive manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will bring strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting knowledge along with the leadership skills necessary to build accountability and elevate overall team capability. Schedule 2nd Shift leadership role Flexibility required to come in earlier as needed Strong emphasis on communication and transition between shifts Responsibilities Maintenance Leadership Lead daily maintenance operations for 2nd shift manufacturing operations Supervise and support approximately 4-7 maintenance technicians Establish clear expectations, accountability, and performance standards for the maintenance team Coach and develop technicians to improve troubleshooting capability and overall technical skillsets Support a hands-on, team-oriented maintenance culture focused on safety, urgency, and continuous improvement Equipment Reliability & Troubleshooting Provide technical support for mechanical and electrical troubleshooting activities throughout the plant Support maintenance activities involving hydraulics, pneumatics, PLCs, and multi-craft maintenance systems Assist with diagnosing equipment failures and implementing corrective actions to minimize downtime Support preventative maintenance initiatives and equipment reliability efforts Coordinate maintenance priorities with Operations to support production goals Safety & Food Quality Promote and enforce safe work practices throughout the maintenance department Ensure compliance with plant safety programs, lockout/tagout procedures, GMPs, and food safety standards Partner cross-functionally with Operations, Quality, and Safety teams to resolve plant issues and improve performance Support maintenance documentation and work order completion within plant systems Continuous Improvement & Team Development Identify opportunities to improve maintenance response, equipment reliability, and technician capability Support root cause analysis and corrective action efforts for recurring equipment issues Drive strong communication and information transfer between shifts Build strong working relationships across departments to improve overall plant performance Qualifications 3-5 years maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in a food related industry. 3-5 years' experience as a maintenance supervisor prefer but not required. Must have ability to effectively communicate-verbally & writing with employees, Management, customer & vendors. Strong electrical and PLC skills set. Working knowledge of scheduling, budget, equipment, and productions and computer processes. High School graduate or equivalent plus multiple area of technical training courses or technical school background. Required to pass respiratory function & fit test to wear full respirator and SCBA. Ammonia refrigeration experience is a plus #TMZ23 #LI-MB1 Working Conditions/Environment Works in a manufacturing environment where the employee is regularly required to speak, read, sit, stand, walk, lift, reach, grasp and bend while moving about the facility. Must be able to move 75 pounds 25 feet or more. Must be able to stand for an 8-10-hour shift (sometimes longer) with regular breaks while performing repetitive work. May be required to work overtime, weekends and/or holidays as needed. The employee is regularly exposed to heat, fumes, odors, dust, oil, slippery floors, moving parts/equipment and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the plant is loud. Earplugs, safety glasses, beardnets (if facial hair exists), hairnets, and steel-toed / slip-resistant shoes are required in the plant in accordance with company GMP and safety standards.
