Seeking an experienced and dependable Maintenance Supervisor to take full charge of our Maintenance Department, leading a dedicated crew of maintenance staff and directing the day-to-day operations that keep our roads, water systems, facilities, and equipment running smoothly. This is a hands-on leadership role where you will set the standard for the team and ensure the ranch remains safe, functional, and beautiful for our members, guests, and staff year-round.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervise, schedule, and coordinate daily activities of maintenance staff and outside contractors. Oversee maintenance and repair of roads, cabins, barns, wells, plumbing, electrical, septic systems, and recreational facilities. Operate and maintain heavy equipment such as backhoes and trucks for road work and property improvements. Manage and maintain water infrastructure including wells, pumps, storage tanks, and distribution systems. Plan and execute road grading, drainage improvements, erosion control, and storm damage repair. Ensure proper maintenance and tracking of fleet vehicles and equipment, including preventative servicing schedules. Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to maximize efficiency and reduce downtime. Ensure compliance with environmental requirements and local/state safety standards. Respond to and manage emergency situations including severe weather, fire threats, and infrastructure failures. Maintain inventory of tools, parts, and supplies; manage purchasing and control maintenance-related costs. Communicate regularly with ranch management and the board regarding maintenance updates, projects, and issues.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
3+ years of experience in property maintenance, ranch operations, or facilities management. 2+ years of supervisory or leadership experience. Strong working knowledge of water systems, septic systems, and rural infrastructure. Experience operating and maintaining heavy equipment. Ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills. Ability to work independently in a remote, outdoor environment.
Preferred:
Experience on a large ranch, resort, or HOA-style community. Knowledge of Cal Fire requirements and California environmental regulations. Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or ability to obtain one. Equipment certifications or technical training in related trades.
