Ridgeview Post-Acute is seeking a full time maintenance tech to join our team.

Position Purpose:

The Maintenance Assistant works under the direct supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor/Director and the Administrator.

Expectations and Responsibilities:

Must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively. Must possess the ability to make independent decisions, to follow instructions, and to accept constructive criticism. Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors and the general public. Must be able to follow written and oral instructions.

Professional Qualifications:

Must have high school diploma or GED.

Physical Requirements:

The Maintenance Assistant understands the physical nature of the position and realizes the need to:

• Pass a physical exam
• Lift, push, pull and move residents, equipment, supplies, etc.
• Lift a maximum of fifty(50) pounds several times each work day
• Lift twenty-five(25) pounds consistently
• Be able to move and stretch in such a way to be able to reach areas above their head and below their waist
• Be able to push and pull a cart or wheelchair requiring twenty-five(25) pounds of force
• Bend stoop and twist using proper body mechanics constantly throughout the work day
• See and hear well enough to perform duties assigned
• Remain active and on their feet for up to four(4) hours at a time
• It is expected that they may come into contact with blood or body fluids.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsibilities of the Maintenance Assistant include, but are not limited to:

• Ensure that maintenance schedules are followed as outlined for respective shifts or areas.
• Coordinate daily maintenance services with nursing services when performing routine assignments in resident living areas.
• Perform specific tasks in accordance with the daily work assignments.
• Follow established fire safety policies and procedures.
• Follow all established safety procedures and precautions when performing maintenance services.
• Maintain general plant and facility in good repair, ensuring a safe, clean and orderly environment.
• Keep your work area free of hazardous conditions, excess supplies, equipment, etc to assure that all established safety rules/regulations are followed at all times. Refer to material safety data sheets (MSDSs) when necessary.
• Follow established policies governing the use of labels and MSDSs.
• Ensure maintenance supplies have been replenished in work areas as necessary.
• Keep supervisor informed of supply needs.
• Receive and follow maintenance schedule/instructions from your supervisor and as outlined in our established maintenance polices and procedures.
