Maintenance Technician

Cannabis Maintenance Technician Job Summary:

The Cannabis Maintenance Technician is responsible for supporting the efficient operation of a dual-purpose cannabis facility that includes cultivation (grow) areas and extraction laboratories. This role requires strong skills in plumbing , preventative maintenance , and general facilities repair. The technician will ensure that all systems— mechanical, plumbing, and environmental controls—are functioning optimally and in compliance with state cannabis regulations.

Director of Cultivation Key Responsibilities:

Grow Facility Support:

Install, inspect, and maintain irrigation systems , fertigation lines , and drainage systems for grow rooms. Perform routine inspection/maintenance on cultivation equipment such as grow lights, dehumidifiers, air handlers, CO₂ systems. Calibrate and maintain environmental control systems . Conduct preventive maintenance to avoid disruptions to plant cycles and environmental consistency.

Extraction Lab Support:

Maintain proper function and safety of lab ventilation , vacuum pumps , solvent storage , and extraction equipment . Install and repair plumbing for lab sinks, closed-loop extraction systems, and water filtration systems. Ensure all lab safety and regulatory protocols are followed during repairs or upgrades.

Facility-Wide Duties:

Perform routine inspections, diagnose issues, and complete corrective maintenance for mechanical, and plumbing systems. Maintain logs of all maintenance work, safety checks, and inventory of tools/supplies. Work closely with Cultivation, Lab, and Compliance teams to support operational continuity. Follow OSHA and cannabis industry safety and sanitation standards.

Required Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED. 2+ years of experience in facility maintenance. Able to read schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals. Ability to lift 50 lbs., work in high-humidity areas, and climb ladders safely. Must pass background check in accordance with state cannabis regulations.

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous experience in cannabis cultivation or lab environments. Familiarity with general automation platforms.

Working Conditions:

Fast-paced, high-security environment. Exposure to loud equipment, bright grow lights, solvents, and varying temperatures. Must be comfortable wearing PPE when in lab or grow environments.
