Job Description

Equipment Service/Maintenance Technician $26-$30/hr Fredericktown, OH 2nd and 3rd shift openings available! Job Description The Maintenance Technician supports all aspects of daily production operations by performing troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance on a wide range of production equipment. This role focuses on reducing machine downtime, improving equipment efficiency, and providing hands-on technical support to ensure smooth and reliable manufacturing operations. Responsibilities Work closely with production team members to complete maintenance and repair assignments in a timely and efficient manner. Support production with both planned and unplanned maintenance activities as assigned. Diagnose and repair all types of machine breakdowns, including hydraulic, mechanical, pneumatic, electrical, ladder logic, and numerical control systems. Collaborate directly with team leaders to reduce production downtime and drive machine efficiency improvements. Participate in shift meetings and other assigned meetings to review performance, priorities, and maintenance needs. Take part in all required training activities to improve and master job duties and technical skills. Perform robot recovery procedures and support robot training activities when requested. Support new model launch and implementation activities as assigned. Communicate clearly during shift handovers, including detailed pass-down of equipment performance, breakdowns, and follow-up actions. Complete preventive maintenance (PM) on equipment as scheduled and assigned. Support environmental improvement activities related to equipment and facility operations. Read and interpret technical drawings and schematics, including hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and ladder logic diagrams, to diagnose and resolve issues. Use team-based problem-solving techniques to identify root causes and implement corrective actions. Maintain accurate records of maintenance work, repairs, and parts usage as required by the organization. Perform all other related duties as assigned to support safe, efficient, and reliable production operations. Essential Skills Minimum of 1-3 years of manufacturing experience utilizing team-based problem-solving techniques. Hands-on experience in troubleshooting and repairing hydraulic, mechanical, and pneumatic systems. Electrical troubleshooting skills, including work with 480V 3-phase systems. Ability to perform PLC troubleshooting and work with PLC control systems (must have at least 2 or 3 out of 5 core areas such as hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical, PLCs, and robotics; PLC and robotics are not mandatory but are considered among the core skills). Experience with Fanuc robotics or similar industrial robotic systems. Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings, including hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical (ball screws, spindles, etc.), and ladder logic diagrams. Strong mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of mechanical troubleshooting and diagnostic techniques. Ability to define problems, analyze root causes, and resolve issues quickly under time-sensitive production conditions. Familiarity with OSHA regulations and safe work practices in a manufacturing environment. Good time management skills and the discipline to self-prioritize daily activities. Strong communication skills to support effective shift pass-down and collaboration with team members and leaders. Self-starter mindset with the ability to work effectively with people at all levels while maintaining a positive, can-do attitude. Additional Skills & Qualifications Technical high school education or any combination of equivalent education and experience. Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel for documentation and reporting. Experience with Plex or other comparable ERP systems. Knowledge of the work areas covered within a manufacturing environment, particularly in equipment service and maintenance. Ability to adapt to ever-changing priorities and situations in a fast-paced production setting. Positive, uplifting, and respectful interpersonal style when working with colleagues across departments. Good understanding of quality and continuous improvement concepts, including participation in suggestion and improvement programs. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fredericktown, OH. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $26.60 - $28.60/hr.
