Job Description

Maintenance Technician - 1st shift but needs to be available after hours if needed
The Position:
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for keeping production and facility equipment running efficiently and safely in a foundry environment. The position requires a blend of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic skills, with a focus on preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair to minimize downtime and ensure compliance with safety standards. This role is hands-on and technical, combining mechanical aptitude with safety discipline to keep foundry operations running smoothly. It's ideal for someone with a strong maintenance background who can thrive in a demanding, high-heat -multi-functional job in an industrial setting.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Equipment Maintenance & Repair:
Perform installation, inspection, maintenance, and repair of industrial production machinery, including overhead cranes, sand mixers, conveyors, and other foundry equipment .
Preventive Maintenance:
Conduct routine checks (motors, belts, drives, filters) and preventative maintenance to extend equipment life and ensure reliability
Troubleshooting:
Diagnose and repair faults in electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems; perform advanced troubleshooting of PLC programs and control components
Safety Compliance:
Follow Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures, maintain a safe work environment, and report unsafe conditions immediately
Documentation & Reporting:
Record maintenance activities, track recurring issues, and report deficiencies to supervisors
Team Collaboration:
Work with operators, engineers, and other maintenance staff to resolve operational challenges and support continuous improvement initiatives
Education & Experience Requirements:
Education:
High school diploma . any tradesmen or journeymen certificates are a plus.
Experience:
5+ years minimum in industrial maintenance; familiarity with hydraulics, pneumatics, welding, and fabrication is a plus. Foundry / CNC / cast melting maintenance time a plus
Technical Skills:
Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and equipment manuals; proficiency with hand and power tools, meters, and material handling equipment. Welding, fabrication, hyd - Pneumatics, furnace and melting application are all desired skill sets.
Safety Awareness:
Strong understanding of OSHA and foundry-specific safety protocols; consistent use of
PPE Work Ethic:
Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment; willingness to work overtime and weekends - this is must.
Functional Requirements Consistently able to:
Manually lift and move product and materials up to 50 lbs. through regular physical exertion, including but not limited to reach forward, reach overhead, lift, carry, crouch, and bend Power grip and wrist turn, including the use of hand tools and/or steering fork truck Walk, sit, or stand for up to 12 hours with intermittent breaks Push/pull up to 100 lbs. See, inspect, handle and evaluate product quality Read and understand written English language work instructions Work in non-climate controlled environments, including hot and humid conditions Climb ladders and stairs of varying heights Wear task-based Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) provided by LSI Protective Footwear Hearing Protection Protective Eyewear Gloves Additional PPE may as required by specific tasks
