Job Description

MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN 2 JOB SUMMARY
The Maintenance Technician 2 is responsible for maintaining all buildings and equipment in safe condition and good working order. Applicant must have knowledge and experience with building construction and all systems.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
Maintenance technicians report directly to the Vintage Hotels' Corporate Office. Maintenance works with team members at the Front Desk and in Housekeeping, Maintenance, Laundry and the Corporate Office.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The ability to perform the following duties under supervision, or independently:
  • Carpentry repair of structures such as partitions, walls, doors, fences, larger repairs, roof repairs, etc.
  • General repairs on basic equipment, furniture, screen doors, shower caulking
  • Preventative maintenance programs - quarterly changing of batteries, bulbs, preventative plumbing cleaning
  • Minor electrical repair work, such as replacing outlets and plugs. Inspect systems for unsafe conditions. Larger repairs to heavy equipment, hardwiring, etc.
  • Plumbing repair of leaks; replace washers and other minor parts; clear minor clogs. Larger repairs; valve replacements, toilet replacements, etc.
  • Running low voltage wiring
  • General landscaping duties such as weeding, mowing, trimming and watering as needed. Maintaining irrigation systems.
  • Prepare various surfaces for paint; touch up paint, full wall painting, exterior painting, safety stripes, parking areas
  • Drywall repairs
  • Operator level maintenance of company vehicles such as checking oil, coolant and other fluid levels, checking tire pressure and wear and tear and refueling; deliver vehicle for repairs and maintenance as necessary
  • Responding to emergency situations such as flooding, power outage, and equipment failures
  • Renovations to commercial spaces and hotel rooms; flooring removal and installation, coping installation, shower and tub removal and installation, painting and texturing drywall
  • Drive maintenance or other company vehicle on a daily basis between properties and to pick up parts and supplies
  • Check chemical levels on pools and spas; replace chemicals as needed. Assist in larger repairs, draining, etc.
  • Maintain maintenance records; may use a computer in the course of these duties
  • Other duties as assigned

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum 4 years experience in construction, various trades or property maintenance.
  • Previous work-related experience
  • High school diploma or
GED REQUIRED LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS
  • Valid Oregon Driver's License
  • Must pass a criminal background check
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS / WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • Work requires frequent standing, walking, reaching, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching and crawling
  • Work requires the employee to be able to sit in both an office setting and vehicles
  • Must be able to frequently lift and move up to 100 pounds
  • Up to 75% of work is performed outdoors in all season temperatures
WORK HOURS AND WAGE
  • Day shift, weekends and holidays
  • On-call (after hours)
  • Full-time, Hourly position, Non-Exempt
  • Starts at $22.
