Job Description

  • Multi-Craft Maintenance Technician - $31-40/hr.

  • Job Description
  • The Maintenance Technician supports a highly automated, fast-paced manufacturing facility that produces automotive seating.
This role focuses on maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and robotic systems to ensure reliable and safe operation of production equipment. The technician reads and interprets technical documentation, performs preventive and corrective maintenance, and helps optimize equipment performance in a clean, climate-controlled environment.
  • Responsibilities
  • + Replace electrical components, including switches, fixtures, wires, fuses, motors, and circuit breakers, and recommend suitable substitute parts when necessary.
+ Work on transformers, controllers, switching relays and contactors, timers, heating devices, disconnects, thermocouples, solenoid valves, and lighting systems. + Rewire machinery to meet updated specifications, including punching holes in boxes, assembling electrical panels, and making wiring changes as needed. + Locate, diagnose, and repair machinery with electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, or control-related problems to minimize downtime. + Read and interpret blueprints, engineering sketches, and designs, recognizing details and slight variations in objects and applying analytical skills to solve issues. + Perform standard computations related to electrical load requirements and determine appropriate wire sizes and safety devices. + Maintain accurate written records for ordering replacement parts, tracking part quantities, and generating spare parts lists for high-usage components. + Regularly inspect and adjust manufacturing equipment based on communication with machine operators and production supervisors. + Perform preventive maintenance tasks such as oiling, greasing, aligning, and cleaning machinery and mechanical parts. + Fit bearings, align and synchronize gears, connect belts and chains, replace seals and gaskets, and torque fasteners to specification. + Support the maintenance of robots, PLCs, motors, gearboxes, air compressors, and other utilities and production support equipment. + Apply lockout/tagout procedures and safe work practices when working on electrical and mechanical systems. + Use welding skills, when applicable, to support equipment repair and maintenance. + Collaborate with production and maintenance teams to ensure equipment reliability and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes.
  • Essential Skills
  • + Experience working as an industrial maintenance technician in a manufacturing environment OR completion of technical schooling such as a technical school program or associate degree in automation, robotics, or electro-mechanical engineering.
+ Ability to read and understand technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics. + At least 3 years of experience troubleshooting pneumatics and hydraulics on manufacturing equipment. + Knowledge of PLC troubleshooting for automated equipment. + Hands-on experience with electrical maintenance and electrical troubleshooting. + Experience maintaining robots, PLCs, motors, gearboxes, and industrial equipment. + Familiarity with 480V, 3-phase electrical systems. + Understanding and application of lockout/tagout safety procedures. + Ability to perform mechanical troubleshooting and repairs, including bearings, gears, belts, chains, seals, and gaskets. + Ability to perform utilities maintenance, including equipment such as air compressors. + Comfort working in an industrial, fast-paced manufacturing environment with highly automated equipment. + Strong troubleshooting skills across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and robotic systems.
  • Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • + Technical school training or an associate degree in automation, robotics, or electro-mechanical engineering.
+ 3+ years of welding experience. + 3+ years of electrical troubleshooting experience with 480V, 3-phase systems. + Experience working in an automotive manufacturing facility. + Experience maintaining highly automated production equipment. + Ability to interpret and work from blueprints, engineering sketches, and electrical schematics. + Experience working with robotics and automation systems in a production environment. + Familiarity with industrial maintenance best practices and preventive maintenance programs.

You work on a wide variety of highly automated production equipment, including robotics, PLC-controlled systems, motors, gearboxes, and utilities such as air compressors. The pace is demanding, and technicians must be comfortable moving quickly while maintaining accuracy and safety. Tools are provided, and the facility supports a professional industrial setting where collaboration with operators, production supervisors, and other maintenance personnel is part of daily work.

  • The pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $77000.00/yr. health, dental, and vision insurance, retirement plans (like 401(k) matching), and paid time off (PTO)
