Job Title:
Maintenance Technician - 3rd Shift Job Description The Maintenance Technician on 3rd Shift maintains, repairs, and rebuilds a wide range of production and facility equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of manufacturing lines. This role works largely independently on the production floor, planning and executing preventive maintenance and responding quickly to equipment issues to minimize downtime. Responsibilities Maintain and repair a variety of production-related equipment, including grinders, tape machines, and other manufacturing machinery. Rebuild, maintain, or repair a wide range of shop equipment to keep operations running smoothly. Complete HVAC, forklift, and related maintenance projects when they are not covered by service agreements. Work closely with contractors and equipment vendors to coordinate repairs, revisions, and equipment modifications. Manage maintenance-related inventory and collaborate with purchasing to ensure adequate repair parts are available. Operate and maintain the chilled water system, compressed air system, and vacuum system to support production needs. Assist with building and grounds maintenance to keep the facility and surrounding areas in good condition. Keep the work area and all equipment in a safe operating condition, maintaining a clean and orderly environment. Plan, complete, and follow up on preventive maintenance schedules for production lines and facility systems. Perform emergency repairs on production lines and support equipment as needed during the shift. Maintain a strong presence on the production floor and collaborate with production team members to address equipment issues promptly. Perform other duties, projects, and tasks as assigned to support overall maintenance and facility operations. Essential Skills Hands-on experience with preventive maintenance in a manufacturing or industrial environment. Proven ability to perform maintenance and repair on production equipment and facility systems. Strong electrical troubleshooting skills, including diagnosing and resolving electrical issues on equipment. Mechanical aptitude with experience working on mechanical systems and components. Practical knowledge of hydraulics and the ability to troubleshoot and repair hydraulic systems. Practical knowledge of pneumatics and the ability to troubleshoot and repair pneumatic systems. Experience with HVAC systems, including maintenance and repair tasks. Background in facility maintenance, including building and grounds support. Experience working in the plastic manufacturing industry. Ability to work independently on 3rd shift while coordinating with a small team. Comfort working on the production floor for the majority of the shift and remaining on feet for up to 8 hours per day. Ability to safely work at heights on occasion when required by maintenance tasks. Why Work Here? Work Environment This role is a 3rd Shift position, working Sunday through Thursday from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., with a shift premium and opportunities for voluntary overtime, typically 5-10 hours per week, and potential for mandatory overtime and weekend work as business needs increase. The facility offers an extremely clean, well-lit, air-conditioned environment with modern equipment and operates under GMP standards. The position requires a strong floor presence, comfort standing and walking for up to 8 hours per day, and occasional work at heights. The work setting emphasizes safety, organization, and adherence to established procedures while supporting efficient, reliable production operations. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Mazomanie, WI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $56000.00 - $73000.00/yr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
